Jaou Tunis invites artists based in or from Africa and the broader South West Asia and North Africa (S.W.A.N.A.) region to showcase their work in the heart of Tunis.

Overview

Jaou Tunis is looking for artists employing visual media (e.g., photography, video, montage, multimedia practices, etc.). The chosen artists will be developing their work with the guest curator and her team and will have the opportunity to showcase it in an open-air exhibition along the iconic Habib Bourguiba Avenue in the heart of Tunis in the next edition of the festival, to be held October 10 to 26, 2024.

The next edition guest curator will be Taous R. Dahmani, a French, British, and Algerian art historian, writer, and curator based in London, specializing in photography. Her projects revolve around the nexus of photography and politics.

Practical Info

Applicants should be artists based in or from Africa and the broader South West Asia and North Africa (S.W.A.N.A.) region. The candidates are welcome to apply with a single PDF document, including a brief artist biography, a portfolio and a 400-word description of the proposed project/series along with accompanying visuals (only completed projects will be considered).
