On the occasion of the 2024 edition of Photolux Festival, Photolux and Intarget are promoting a new open call with no limitations on genre and nationality.

Overview

On the occasion of the 2024 edition of Photolux Festival - International Biennial of Photography, in Lucca, Italy, Photolux and Intarget are promoting an international open call aimed at photographers and photographic collectives, professional and non-professional, of any genre and nationality.

Submitted projects must propose a novel and original reading of the Festival’s theme. The winning projects will be produced and exhibited in one of the official venues of the Festival and included within the catalog.

Practical Info

This year the contest is divided into two sections: Raccontare L'Italia (Telling About Italy) and A.I. – Artificial Intelligence. For Raccontare L'Italia, projects will be able to tell the story of Italy from an architectural point of view, or from a landscape point of view, or by making trades, traditions, customs, food, excellence, etc. It will be possible to submit projects using archival photos. Photographs taken with drones may also be submitted. Participants should send a short biography in Italian and English, the title and statement of the project in Italian and English, and 15 images.

For A.I. – Artificial Intelligence section, images made through A.I. without any specific theme should be submitted. Applications must include a short biography in Italian and English complete with educational background and career, in which personal data and contact details are specified, 1 to 4 images, title (not mandatory) and an explanation of the workflow used to create the image.

The winner will be produced an exhibition that will be included in the official program and catalog of Photolux Festival 2024 and also the possibility of receiving an awarded from Intarget. As for the A.I. section, the finalists will be produced images that will be part of the exhibition that will be included in the official program and, for the winner, the inclusion of the images in the Photolux Festival 2024 catalog and the possibility of collaborating with Intarget on a project concerning A.I.

About Photolux Festival

Photolux Festival aims to be a precious moment of encounter, a crossroads for great masters, industry experts and enthusiasts, also opening a window from which to observe new talents and the most avant-garde languages. The Festival collects and carries on the legacy of the Lucca Photo Fest, the photography and video art festival born in 2005. In 2012, driven by the desire to focus even more on quality, the event became biennial with the new name of Photolux Festival.
