In the summer of 2025, the Hasselblad Foundation will inaugurate Sweden's largest photo salon – Fotosalongen 2025.

Overview

Hasselblad Foundation invites both amateur and professional photographers across all genres to submit their work through the open call. The selection process will be conducted by a distinguished jury comprising Pauline Benthede (Global Vice President of Exhibitions at Fotografiska), Eva Dahlgren, (renowned artist and dedicated photographer), Paul Hansen (photographer at Dagens Nyheter) and Dragana Vujanovic Östlind (Jury Chair and Chief Curator at the Hasselblad Foundation).

Their objective is to curate an exhibition that showcases a diverse array of photographic styles and perspectives. The walls of the Hasselblad Center will be adorned with works that offer unexpected encounters and surprises, where the creations of established artists will be displayed alongside those of emerging talents and seasoned photographers who have yet to present their work publicly.

This photo salon seeks to represent the full spectrum of contemporary photography, embracing practitioners whose interests range from documentary and photojournalism to nature, family, street style, science, politics, and the arts. Selection will not be confined to a specific theme; rather, it will focus on identifying compelling images and narratives that resonate with depth and diversity of expression. Practical Info

Applicants can submit up to 5 individual images. The jury will decide whether all 5 or a selection will be displayed in the exhibition. All works submitted must be for sale. Include the price including VAT and any edition details in the application. The price should cover all visible elements of the work (such as framing) and be reasonable in terms of insurance and market value.

If selected for the exhibition at the Hasselblad Center in Gothenburg, the photographers' work would be seen by an audience of approximately 70,000 visitors, during the summer of 2025 and it would be included in the exhibition catalogue. Participants in the exhibition also receive a SEK 3,200 fee. The Hasselblad Foundation will also purchase a number of works from the exhibition for their permanent collection.
