Overview

The Finnish Photobook Award, co-organised by the Museum of Photography and the Association of Photographic Artists, is granted annually to a high-quality fine art photographic book.

The award highlights the book as a form of fine art photography and as an independent art work. The aim of the award is to encourage and motivate authors of photobooks and to invite the public to become familiar with the art form. In spring 2025 the award is granted for a book published in 2024.

Practical Info

Authors must be Finnish citizens or permanent residents of Finland. If the book has several authors, at least half of them must be Finnish citizens or residents. The publisher and/or printing house can be foreign and the book does not need to be in Finnish language. The book is required to have an ISBN number and the edition needs to be at least 200 copies.

To participate, applicants must complete the online form between and submit two copies of the book along with a printed copy of the application form to the Finnish Museum of Photography by Sunday, February 9, 2025. The books can be sent by mail to The Finnish Museum of Photography, Tallberginkatu 1 G, 00180 Helsinki, or delivered directly to the museum’s ticket office at Kaapeliaukio 3, Helsinki. The books need to be appropriately packed and the package must include a printed copy of the submitted application form. The books will not be returned to the participants.

The finalists and the winner will be announced in March-April 2025. The winner will be granted an award worth €2,000, and finalists will receive €500.
