Der Greif X Grisebach: New Positions

Der Greif is now accepting entries for a new opportunity in partnership with the esteemed German art auction house Grisebach.

Overview

The new Der Greif Open Call gives the possibility of being exhibited and subsequently sold in an online auction at Grisebach Auction House, renowned for showcasing the works of today's international photographic avant-garde as represented by Bernd and Hilla Becher, Thomas Ruff, Thomas Struth, and Candida Höfer. Grisebach has been auctioning photographic works since 1988 and is the market-leader in this field in Germany. With Diandra Donecker as co-director and co-partner since 2019 of Grisebach next to Daniel von Schacky, the renowned art auction house is heading towards even more dynamism, international visibility, and reach for photography.

Practical Info

Applicants can submit up to 10 photographs of one project. Selected images from this open call will be curated to act as contemporary visual responses to the historical pieces included in Grisebach's January 2024 auction. The selected artists will receive individual contracts with Der Greif and will get the chance to sell their work at Grisebach, the market-leading auction house for photographic works in Germany. Participants unable to contribute financially may request a voucher for a free submission at extravoucher@dergreif.org.
