Supported by Jorge M. and Darlene Pérez, the initiative will create four fully funded residencies over the next two years from countries of Latin America and the Caribbean that have been underrepresented in Delfina Foundation’s programme.

Overview

The Delfina Foundation, in partnership with El Espacio 23 and the Jorge M. Pérez Collection, is looking for artists from Latin America, the Caribbean, and related diasporic communities in the United States. The initiative specifically targets practitioners from countries that have been historically underrepresented in the foundation’s recent programming. Artists from Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, and Argentina have benefited from dedicated residencies over the last two years. To ensure this opportunity benefits a wider range of Latin American and Caribbean communities, artists living in those countries are not eligible to apply through this call.

The residency is designed to provide artists with the time and resources to develop their practice in London, fostering international dialogue and professional networking. Two artists will be selected from this call: one for a twelve-week residency in Autumn 2026 and another for Winter 2027. A second open call will be launched at a later date to appoint two further residencies.

Practical Info

To apply, candidates must submit an online application form including a 50-word summary of their practice, a detailed description of their artistic interests (max. 2000 characters), a CV, and a portfolio or link to a personal website. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed in May, with the final selection announced by 1 June 2026. Applicants must be able to reside in London for the full twelve-week duration of their assigned slot.

The fully funded residency covers travel, accommodation at the Delfina Foundation house in central London, and a daily living allowance.
