Charta Award 2026

The Charta Award 2026 invites artists to submit unpublished book-ready photographic projects with original narratives. One selected project will be published by Yogurt Editions and may be presented in a solo exhibition with Artphilein.

Overview

Founded in 2021, the Charta Award is an annual program dedicated to scouting and developing unpublished projects as part of the biennial Charta Festival. The festival celebrates contemporary photography and photo books. The award invites international artists with unpublished projects developed for the book format.

This year, Artphilein will be a partner of the festival and will select one of the shortlisted artists to present a solo exhibition in its space between April and May 2027.

Practical Info

The award is open to international artists with unpublished projects. Submissions should include at least 30 images, a project synopsis, supporting materials, and a signed copy of the publishing contract. An edited PDF of the project to help the jury better understand the work is also welcome but not mandatory.

One selected project will be published by Yogurt Editions in an edition of 500 copies, with the artist receiving 30 copies and 10% royalties. Copyright remains with the artist, while usage rights for the first edition and related communications are granted to Associazione Culturale Paper Room.
