Realisation Grants 2026

Organized by Centre for British Photography, the Realisation Grant provides Britain-based artists with funding between £2,000 and £4,000 to complete a project within one year.

Overview

The annual realisation grants have been immensely successful and they are now increased by the amounts awarded. Applicants may now apply for awards from £2,000 up to £4,000. The amount awarded will be at the discretion of the judges. These are not support grants but are awards to enable photographers and artists working with photography to bring an ongoing project to completion within a year. They are open to individuals of all ages, irrespective of academic background.

Practical Info

Applicants must be based in Britain. However, they welcome a breadth of projects that address concepts, ideas, and subject matter that may extend beyond Britain’s geographical borders. Submissions must be photographic or lens-based but can include incorporations of other art forms with the photographic medium (i.e. performance, painting, sculpture, music, literature etc). Applicants must submist a CV, a biography, a project description, a project proposal, and more.

Selected photographers and artists working in photography will be notified by 1 May 2026. Selected artists will receive their grants in two stages: 50% upon acceptance of the grant, and the balance on November 15, 2026 considered the halfway mark of the grant competition period. The works produced with the support of the grant should be finished by May 1, 2027.
