Overview

The National Press Photographers Foundation (NPPF) offers an annual grant to support photojournalistic work. The completed project should present a substantive, in-depth exploration of the chosen subject and reflect the highest standards of contemporary visual storytelling. Through this grant, NPPF champions photojournalists who uphold the free flow of visual information, whose work is essential for preserving democracy.

The recipient will receive $5,000 to complete a visual documentary project. Also, NPPF will provide a coordinator to check in with monthly.

The Bob & Millie Lynn Grant is open to professional photojournalists and students legally authorized to work in the United States (all 50 states), Puerto Rico or the United States Minor Outlying Islands. A completed IRS Form W-9 will be required upon acceptance of the award. There are no geographic restrictions on where stories may be photographed.

Applications for the Bob & Millie Lynn Grant must include: a concise bio highlighting their experience and commitment to completing a meaningful project; a CV with 2–3 professional references; a project description or summary; a project proposal outlining the planned project, timeline, and intended use of the grant; and a body of work consisting of up to 24 images for still applications or 2–3 videos (each under 10 minutes) for video applications.
