Blurring The Lines 2023 - An Ecology Of Seeing

Coming to its seventh edition, Blurring the Lines aims to promote students' graduation research work, get international recognition, and contribute to an academic dialogue.

Overview

Blurring the Lines has collaborated with various international institutions to promote dialogue and research around the production of images and its cultures through exhibitions, international conferences, books, students' meetings and talent scouting activities (see more here).

Practical info

The theme for the 2023 edition is "An Ecology of Seeing." Photography has become a powerful medium for image-makers to explore ethical and sustainable practices, cultural representation, privacy and publicity, appropriation, and copyright, among other issues. As we face critical environmental challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution, we must take collective action to promote sustainability and preserve the planet. Our call for proposals seeks to address these issues and promote responsible actions that consider their impact on society, economy, and the environment. We welcome a broad range of projects that address urgent local matters and provide unique perspectives on the world around us, using imagery as a tool to advance sustainable development and conservation initiatives.

The call is open to graduating students and recent graduates worldwide. Institutions can nominate their students and start the selection process. Email your school information to info@blurringthelines.org to receive the call.
