BìFoto 2026 Open Call

BìFoto selects three photographic projects for exhibition at BìFoto Fest in Sardinia, Italy, offering long-term public visibility in Mogoro’s open-air exhibition space and inclusion in an international photography festival.

Overview

The BìFoto Award is the biennial competition through which three photographic projects are selected to be exhibited, alongside leading national and international photographers, at the 16th edition of BìFoto Fest – International Festival of Photography in Sardinia, Italy, which will open in Mogoro on 10 October 2026.

Each year, the Festival’s artistic directors assign a theme to the edition, drawing inspiration from a song or an album by renowned Italian and international artists. From De André to Eddie Vedder, from Vinicio Capossela to Subsonica, as well as Brunori Sas and Johnny Cash, photographers are invited to reflect on and engage with major contemporary issues.

The song chosen as the guiding thread of the 16th edition of BìFoto Fest is Dio è morto (God Is Dead) by the Italian band Nomadi, a song that speaks of disillusionment and a sense of loss, portraying a world that feels adrift, yet still hinting at the possibility of a fragile but necessary renewal.

Practical Info

Each participant may submit up to three projects, with a maximum of one project selected per photographer or collective. Each project must include 8–12 images. AI-generated images are not permitted; limited AI-based editing tools are allowed only if declared.

Selected projects are printed and exhibited during BìFoto Fest 2026, with accommodation and meals provided for the opening days.

The jury is composed of Dario De Dominicis, Giulia Balzano, Simona Sanna, Stefano Pia, Valentina De Santis, and Vittorio Cannas.
