Belgrade Photo Month is officially accepting submissions for their 2025 New Talents open call that is set to be held in May of the upcoming year.

Belgrade Photo Month New Talents 2025 invites emerging photographers to explore the theme of Postconflict, focusing on the aftermath of political, social, personal, environmental, and economic struggles. The competition seeks works that probe resilience, transformation, and the multifaceted process of rebuilding. Participants will showcase their ability to articulate complex narratives that delve into both collective and personal experiences. This open call serves as a platform for artists to contribute unique visual dialogues that resonate with global and local audiences, emphasizing creativity, innovation, and technical mastery in the medium of photography.

Practical Info

Selected photographers will have the chance to feature their work at Belgrade Photo Month’s exhibition in May 2025, gaining visibility in Serbia's vibrant art scene. The open call is specifically for individuals born after January 2,000, allowing both amateur and professional photographers from any nationality to apply, as long as they meet this age requirement. Finalists will be asked to provide high-resolution images to be included in the main event.

The jury for this edition comprises respected figures from the field of contemporary photography, including Dušan Kochol (Curator and Contemporary Artist), Isabel Lazaro (Director and Founder of Art Photo Bcn), Jelena Jankovic (Visual Artist with a focus on psychological and theatrical themes), Simone Azzoni (Art critic and Director of Grenze – Arsenali Fotografici), and Špela Pipan (Curator specializing in modern and contemporary photography at Photon Gallery). These experts will evaluate submissions based on creativity, originality, and technical quality.

This open call is free to enter, and submissions must be in by February 16, 2025, via email. Successful applicants will be notified by March 2, 2025.
