Overview
The $6,000 Alan Hagman Photojournalism grant is named for the late Los Angeles Times photo editor who served as a mentor and championed the work of photojournalists throughout his career. The grant is supported by donations from the Hagman family and Alan's friends and colleagues.
Practical Info
Candidates must submit a complete application package. This includes personal contact information, a concise biography highlighting your professional experience and commitment to completing a significant project, and a CV with contact details for two to three professional references. Submissions must also feature a project title and a brief summary (under 2500 characters). This should be accompanied by a detailed project proposal (under 4000 characters, including spaces) that explains the project the photographer plans to undertake, provides a brief timeline, and details how they intend to use the grant funds. Finally, they include a portfolio of their work, consisting of either up to 24 images for still photography applications or two to three videos (each less than 10 minutes) for video applications.
