Daylight announced the launch of the 2024 edition of its Photo Awards.

Overview

Founded in 2003, Daylight seeks out emerging and mid-career photographic artists and showcases them to a global audience via both print and digital publishing programs.

Practical Info

Applicants need to submit 15-20 images, captions, one-page artist’s statement, bio and CV. This year's judges are Jean-Christophe Godet (Guernsey Photography Festival/Glaz Festival), Sarah Gilbert (The Guardian), Stephanie Heimann (The New Republic), David Johnson (Print Study For All), Paul Ninson (Dikan Center). The winner will receive $1,000, a digital feature, and a chance to have their project considered for publication. Previous Daylight Photo Award winners include: Takako Kido, Vikesh Kapoor, Donavon Smallwood, Maria Sturm, Bryan Thomas, Matthew Genitempo, Bryan Schutmaat, Aaron Vincent Elkaim, Tamas Dezso and Katrin Koenning.

By exploring the documentary mode alongside conceptual photographic work, Daylight raises awareness about important issues of the day while revitalizing the relationship between art, photography, and the world at large.
