At the beginning of March, IKEA announced the suspension of sales and withdrawal from the Russian market. This gesture is the brand's reaction to Russia's war against Ukraine. While a small percentage of people come out to anti-war rallies in Russia, it seems that only the closure of IKEA stores has genuinely managed to disturb society. There were more people in lines than at anti-war protests. In the stores, people fought furiously for the last item on the shelf, while on the streets, they idly watch as fellow citizens are put into police vans.
