The pencil of Nature
This project is an exercise of appropriation beginning with its tittle, with which I make a revision of female poses when photographed by male eyes, by looking at the work of photographers that have been important in my practice of 30 years. Also, I re-enact male poses in the form of self-portraiture, I look for images that have represented important or celebrated men as well as self-portraits by photographers, as a way of questioning if gender is really a quality conferred to us by nature.
I am interested in the revision as well as in the echo that the work makes on the history of photography, by citing the names of those photographers and characters that have informed my idea of the feminine and the masculine through photography.
