Mostly living in poor neighbourhoods without access to water or electricity, local people have organized "olla comun" (common pot): they install big pots down on the ground and cook the food they have. "Olla comun" ensures neighbours and families to eat one meal a day. It is also a way to keep social interactions alive.

I supported Trekkinca's Peruvian team on a warm day of June 2020 to cover the distribution of basic food (rice, flour, eggs, pasta, oil) that would then be cooked as part of the common pot.

Anxiety interlinked with mixed feelings of shame, sadness and joy have all been part of their daily life since the strike of the pandemic. I was surprised to see no exception from 5 to 65.
