The call of the jackdaw

The work reveals a world where humans, animals, and nature blend together. Situated on the cutting edge of reality and imagination. Influenced by magical realism, I explore the nature of reality and the role of imagination in our perception of the world

Work

There is a moment in your childhood when your worldview changes. Suddenly, you start to look at nature around you instead of feeling a part of it. Your natural sense of merging gives way to something different.

"The Call of the Jackdaw" reflects a deep desire to hold onto a sense of purity to better understand the world around us. It's a quest for how to remain authentic in a world driven by time. In my attempt to respond to these desires, I create a place where human, animal, and nature miraculously merge. Deeply concealed amidst dense foliage. Where the purest form of life exists, there is room for wonder, and the constraints and expectations of others are absent.

In this realm, we transcend the boundaries that separate us from the natural world, much like the call of the jackdaw resonates across the landscape, bridging the gap between the tangible and the ethereal. It is within these moments that I endeavor to capture the magic, the essence of a world unspoiled, a world where our own authenticity can flourish.

Bio

My work is influenced by magical realism, a style that combines elements of dream and reality. I have the ability to capture not only the physical aspects of a scene but also the emotions and atmosphere that accompany it. This ability enables me to create narratives that draw viewers into the enchanting world of my photos.

I am fascinated by the way the world is constantly evolving and changing, and I capture these transformations with a poetic approach. In my photos, I often combine everyday scenes with unusual elements, eliciting a sense of wonder.

My style is soft and ethereal, using muted colors and subtle lighting to create a sense of serenity. A central theme in my photography is the relationship between time and reality. I explore how moments in time can be captured and transformed into images that feel both real and imaginary. It raises questions about the nature of reality and the role of imagination in our perception of the world.

Children often form a significant subject in my work. Their curiosity and wonder serve as a reminder of the valuable act of daydreaming, observing, and discovering. It is something we often lose in our adult lives, driven by the complexity of the world and time. Children experience time differently than adults. For children, time is the connection between different experiences. Simultaneously, children are time themselves, constantly transforming as they navigate towards adulthood.
