I went to my family's place of origin, rediscovering the customs, traditions and history of this small village: Tortorici. A small village in the heart of the Nebrodi Mountains (Sicily), one of the four Sicilian villages where Tarot is still played. Starting from this game, I transformed the meaning of each arcane into images referring to the customs, places and jobs of Tortorici.
I tell the story of a place dear to me, finding this small village inspiring for the life its inhabitants lead. With this work, I try to convey those ancient voices, gestures of a past that becomes present, to enhance Tortorici in all its facets, but at the same time I wonder, how long will these traditions survive?
