Song for the Siren

'Song for the Siren' is an intimate exploration of womanhood—of what it means to grow into ourselves, alongside one another.

'Song for the Siren' traces a journey of self-understanding through the act of looking outward toward other women my age, toward nature, toward quiet moments of shared experience.

The project began as a deeply personal journey, an attempt to heal from trauma through the act of making photographs. In turning the camera toward myself, I began to understand healing not as a solitary pursuit, but as something that happens in relation to the land, with others, and within shared spaces of vulnerability. I began sharing my story and practice with other women, which led to creating deep bonds and understanding.

This project raises the question of whether we are the subject, an object, or something completely up to our own shaping.

This project is a candidate for PhMuseum 2026 Photography Grant
