The photographs depict squeezed and distorted ACG elements, just like sandwich biscuits, reflecting my search for a sense of belonging amidst the squeezed slices of life.
“Sandwich Biscuit" is an ongoing series that archives the intricacies of cities related to ACG culture.
My upbringing was steeped in Japanese culture, profoundly impacting me, particularly my love for Japan's ACG culture (Anime, Comics, and Games), which holds a significant place in my life.
Living abroad for over eight years, I often feel caught between various cultures, like a sandwich biscuit. Surprisingly, in this context, it's the Japanese ACG culture rather than Taiwanese culture that provides me with a sense of belonging. Encountering these elements brings me a sense of comfort.
The series was captured using photogrammetry, a technique I’ve been employing for years. This approach resembles a comprehensive recording of sculpted light, compressing the fluidity of time and the shifting of space, while extracting the most exquisite facets.
