When I turned 8, a close familiar abruptly relationship broke down. This is the last place where we were happy before the breakup. The project tries to understand how the this landscape can affect the behavior and emotions of the people who inhabit it.
When I turned 8 years old, a very close relationship abruptly broke up. “Costa Verde de Lima” ( Coast of Lima city) is the geographic location where we were happy for the last time. Since that event I have visited that space almost obsessively through visual research searching of answers. “Retorno” is a photographic attempt to make sense of and hold on to what I lost prematurely. My project functions then as a way to immobilize the memories and the landscape, a space to preserve the beautiful and the terrible of memory. This landscape continues to affect my behavior, as dictated by Psychogeography ?Who am I in that place? Who are we in that place?
Through the search for certain visual paradoxes in the cliffs, seawalls and beaches of Lima (and the contradictions they produce), the photographed spaces subjects may also become metaphors of loneliness and certain indications are visualized that our personal histories and their relationships with those spaces are more closely linked than we suppose.
