and what's left when your bestfriend dies? thanks to the photos I took of her, I can still feel her close. I can relive all we shared , I can miss her to hell and back, celebrate her for making me feel so deeply/
I always dreamt of relationships outside of anything I saw around me.
Pure, without jealousy, competitiveness, kind, loving. An equal, where you give as much as you get ,where there’s a harmony, an unexplainable way of being that is so natural, you are more yourself than ever around this person, nothing about you is made smaller.
I found this with Sue.
We were in touch daily for 20 years , by what’s app voice messaging , she in LA, me on the other side of the world. We saw each other as much as possible and that always meant me photographing her, casually, as a way of hanging out and sharing our deepest feelings and support of each other.
I am sharing the relationship we had , as an ode to friendship , as a celebration of what we humans can give each other and how all this shapes us, keeps our hope alive and our hearts full, spirits in tact
RIP my beautiful friend,
