R12381

The photographic project "R12381" takes its name from the famous Savona-LaSpezia regional train and aims to pay tribute to the Ligurian Riviera, particularly to Genoa and its province.

This selection of images is part of a larger project named R12381.

The title comes from the way the project was carried out, using the Savona-LaSpezia regional train as a means of transportation and as a reference point from which to extract the stages to explore. In this case, the series focuses on Genoa and its province, which stretches along a large part of the Ligurian Riviera. The train in question, used like a true subway, is often the only means that connects these places, which are consequently isolated, both in life and in time. This isolation is often turned into a resource and a conscious choice, so that a particular attitude and lifestyle become a characteristic feature of a place and its people, who are proud and resistant to the dogmas dictated by modernity. This resistance becomes a hymn to life, to certain values that contrast with those of the great metropolises and the consumerist age we are increasingly living in.

R12381 is born as a discovery, fascination, and exploration of an anachronistic world that perhaps, however, is not entirely wrong in distancing itself from an ethics imposed by fewer and fewer individuals.
