My work explores "cultural islands" through abstract textures. Perforations examines the grids and maps that define our social landscape. By finding cracks in these rigid barriers, I show that our divisions are permeable if we change our perspective.

Perforations

My work explores "cultural islands"—the social barriers we build around ourselves. In this series, I use the textures of our daily environment, like perforated metal, maps, and gridded shadows, as metaphors for isolation.

Rather than photographing people, I look for the "human pulse" within these rigid structures. I capture the moments where boundaries fail: a gaze through a mesh, a scratch on a map, or nature reclaiming decay. These breaches show that our divisions are not absolute. By focusing on these openings, I illustrate that even the most solid walls are permeable, offering a new perspective on how we connect with "the other" in an abstract world.
