Gallery application made on behalf of the artist, today aged 84 and in ill-health, for funding towards a first monograph of her life's work, after a prolific career. Funds would of course be directed exclusively to the artist.
What about older women artists ? Our focus is often on emerging talent but older women artists, often at the peak of their careers before internet and social media, have been left behind and sometimes forgotten.
Nancy Wilson-Pajic (1941, USA, living and working in France since 1979) is exactly that artist profile: considered one of France's pioneering artists in the field of experimental and conceptual photography, with excellent collection and exhibition references, no monographies have been published to date of her work.
The objective here is to raise funds for a quality publication of her work. The focus in this application is on her cyanotype/photogram works, which are particularly spectacular, but which are the fruit of 40 years of questions, experimentations and research into the photographic medium, that has taken many image-based forms and sometimes involving text, multimedia, installation.
I represent the artist exclusively: she is physically very weak but mentally perfectly present. This application is thus made on her behalf as she cannot handle the effort and technology of an internet application. But if awarded, all monies would go to her.
