May The Matter Rest

After my mother passed away in March 2020, the secrets that she kept to herself stirred up to the surface. My siblings and I faced the consequences of things we neither chose nor knew about, things we never did.

It all began after the death of my mother. Back in late 2019 to early 2020, she fought with lung cancer. She not only suffered from the disease, but also carried secrets that she had hidden from my older sister, my younger brother, and I. In late March 2020, on the very day she passed away, we discovered she had been entangled in significant financial complications involving substantial amounts of money. Immediately following her death, my siblings and I were threatened by several individuals, some holding high-ranking positions, police and former police officers, who were tied to these matters. The crushing weight of money, corruption within the police force, and relentless court battles became overwhelming, draining us physically, emotionally, and financially. My siblings and I have been attended into many court appearances, with no clear resolution in sight, facing consequences for matters we neither chose nor understood, burdens we never imagined carrying.
