Iceland Noir is a set of infrared monochrome photographs of the Reynisfjara and Víkurfjara beaches of Southern Iceland. The images are reminiscent of 50s and 60s B-movie and noir cinema, and offer a storyline that is open to the viewer to fill in. The sequence moves from the outer areas of Southern Iceland, to the first beach, then to the second, glimpses the sky, and then moves back out. What happens in the interim remains mysterious; the otherwordly quality of infrared photography - heavily bleached garments, pitch black sky - contributes to a surreal feeling.
