Med.Action Odv screening and operating children with congenital heart conditions in Eritrea.

Documenting cardiac and cardiac surgery interventions for children with congenital heart conditions. The international project of Med.Action Bambini con Elias Odv, an italian organization, includes a treatment program for children with congenital heart disease, identified in collaboration with local healthcare providers.
At the same time, the commitment is training local medical, nursing, and technical staff in order to gradually enable them to become autonomous in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of children with heart conditions.

The assignment required fieldwork in international, logistically complex conditions, and careful interaction with patients and medical staff.

Since june 2025, I'm involved in technical and logistical coordination for the organization, with a planned follow-up photo assignment in Ethiopia in February 2026

This project is a candidate for PhMuseum 2026 Photography Grant
