"Good morning Mr. Hodgkin" is the story of a person who, one morning, without warning, decided to knock on the door of my home; I say "home" because when a cancer affects one inevitably affects all the people around... it affects the family as a whole.
When two years ago I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, I decided to tell the experience I was going to live. I tried to be as delicate as possible focusing mainly on my psychological and emotional state. Straightaway I tried to describe this situation in a simple and intimate way, through daily life, gestures, people and places that I would find important in the story. All those emotion-triggering events within myself was an indispensable tassel to express the moment I was living.
One of the things I expected most to emerge was my interaction with time. While continuing to live in the most normal way possible, I was experiencing a sort of atemporal manifestation where moments of waiting and hope constantly followed one another.
The reportage was made with a smartphone and the small format “polaroid” has been chosen to recreate an album of memories/diary with the purpose to move the viewer to approach the picture closer as to bring out the intimacy that belongs both the diary concept and the subject matter.
