Garden with Fallen Apples

An allegory about women going through menopause, when they have to deal with changes in their bodies, roles and functions in a society to which they become invisible.

The usual symptoms. Hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, insomnia. Bodies suddenly susceptible to gravity or new kinds of pain. Menopause can be the last lunge before the loss of one’s known identity. It is also the harbinger of the spectre that I do not want to become. Of the impending loss of love, intrusive affirmations, the search for meaning mid-midlife crisis. Some of it is shared and some of it is different for every woman; one thing ends and another begins.
