A photographic study of seaside arcades in Scarborough, captured during quieter hours when light, colour, and atmosphere shift, revealing a more reflective side of spaces usually defined by movement and noise.
Electric Memories is a photographic study of seaside arcades and leisure spaces in Scarborough, photographed during quieter hours, early evening, closing time, and off-peak moments.
The work focuses on environments that are typically associated with movement, noise, and activity, but are shown here in a slower, more suspended state. As the crowds thin, attention shifts toward light, colour, and repetition, and smaller details begin to emerge.
Rather than documenting the seaside at its busiest, the series explores what remains once the pace changes, spaces that continue to hold presence, even when nearly empty.
The project forms part of an ongoing body of work exploring place, memory, and everyday environments.
