Dysmorphia

"Dysmorphia" explores my experience with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), using distorted fruits and vegetables as metaphors for my body. The series reveals imperfections, mirroring how BDD warps self-perception and distorts reality.

"Dysmorphia" is a personal exploration of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), a condition where perceived flaws in one's appearance become overwhelming. The series uses photography to communicate the experience of living with BDD, where every perceived imperfection is magnified. By distorting fruits and vegetables, I draw a parallel between organic forms and my own body, emphasizing the warped view BDD creates. The photographs act as metaphors, revealing how BDD distorts reality and heightens self-criticism. The series aims to provoke a deeper understanding of the psychological impact of this disorder while challenging conventional notions of beauty and imperfection.
