Come with me - the Emma

A nomadic lifestyle on sailboat Emma. This project is about children growing up in a relatively secluded yet loving world. Merging with the elements of nature they create a world of their own. Imagination prevails over reality.

The lives of Julie, Sep, and Tijn unfold on sailboat Emma. They have been living on the boat for two years, exploring three different continents and crossing the Atlantic Ocean. In the coming years, they will venture further across the world.

With my camera, I observe the unfolding of this nomadic way of life. I gaze intently, absorbing the world around me with all my senses, allowing myself to fully immerse in the experience of this existence. The children merge with the elements and create a world of their own, it's small and at the same time infinitely large. Time assumes a different significance and aligns more closely with the rhythm of nature. The art of adapting fluidly comes naturally to the children.
