With this work, I set out to reframe the way in which we perceive the human body by turning its parts into an abstraction.

The image we have of the body is often defined by society or formed by our personal relation to it.

The labels we use in our mind to perceive our body can be limiting and often overlook an essence that lays beneath. An essence that is found in ‘experience’ in itself.

When we ‘experience’ and no labels apply, we simply see. However not through the eye of the mind but directly through consciousness.

What this implies, is that we no longer attribute meaning to what we see.

The images offer a new surreal context, one that feels alien and yet intimate. Drawing a link between the geometry of the human body and the shapes, curves and textures found in nature.
