The word "verse" in Latin originally meant to turn the plow. Hence a line written across a page, a line of poetry, a line from the Torah, etc. Line also implies lineage, as we all carry the DNA of our ancestors within us--many of whom, in the case of this boy, were killed in the Holocaust. Who, then, is looking through his eyes?
