Archive 24 began as a personal response to creative burnout. Over the last 18 months, the project has evolved into a visual archive of quiet landscapes and fleeting moments—strange encounters drawn from everyday scenes. A nod to simply seeing.
Between 2023 and 2024, I traveled frequently for work, family, and leisure. During this time, I gathered photographic material without a specific goal, allowing myself to capture life as it unfolded—free from the pressure of a defined outcome.
This period marked a shift in my photographic practice, following the completion of an 8-year project that left me with both a deep sense of accomplishment and creative burnout. In response, I sought to simplify my creative approach.
I spent some time in the studio, but began to shoot more freely outdoors. I began favoring my 35mm point-and-shoot camera over the large and medium formats I typically work with. While I have always worked in the darkroom, I also embraced screenprinting—a meditative process that aligned with my desire to loosen up and expand my visual approach. This shift in medium allowed me to explore new ways of seeing, with an emphasis on process over product.
Archive 24 began as a personal response to creative burnout. Over the past year, the project has evolved into a visual archive of quiet landscapes and fleeting moments—strange encounters drawn from everyday scenes. The project blends candid and staged works, generally straightforward but sometimes manipulated.
At its core, Archive 24 is an ode to simply seeing and an exploration of photographic play.
