Hermes/Unesco is an imaginary collection of archaeological objects that arise from the collision mediated by artificial intelligence of photograph pieces belonging to an official world heritage archive designated by UNESCO.
This encyclopedia of 999 images gives rise to the speculative network of possible crossings between ancient civilizations that did not meet and the potential influence that one could have had on the other. It also opens questions about what place our memory will occupy in the future of synthetic images and what possible mnemonic relationship we will have with them.
Martín Bollati (ARG).
Editor and teacher. His works study the relationship between photography and fiction with a specific interest in the discursive possibilities found in the margins of the photographic apparatus and its structure.
