Form, space, and colour devise Clover’s painter palette, capturing everyday reality through these fundamental tools. Clover Green’s latest project explores the dialogue between images, art, and memory.
Dialogues by Clover Green
Clover Green's artistic practice is a contemplative exploration of the interplay between object, space, and color. Through his lens, he transforms everyday realities into compelling visual narratives that invite viewers to engage with art's universal language. Clover captures life's essence, employing fundamental artistic tools to create works that resonate deeply and provoke thought.
His latest project, Dialogues, delves into the intricate connections between images, art, memory, and imagination. Over the past three years, Clover has meticulously curated and paired photographs using the diptych technique to weave an intuitive and evocative narrative. This unique approach allows the images to converse, revealing hidden relationships that encourage viewers to reflect on the beauty of the world as it exists and as it could be. By bridging past and present, Dialogues creates a dynamic space for contemplation, challenging conventional perceptions of time, space, form, and color.
The design of Dialogues exemplifies Clover's meticulous attention to detail. Wrapped in bright blue poster paper, the book features a square spine softcover, with vibrant yellow and red interiors that mirror the bold contrasts defining his artistic vision. This multi-sensory experience underscores his commitment to creating immersive, thought-provoking works.
At its core, Dialogues embodies connections—between images, the present and the canon of 20th-century abstract art, and between the artist and the viewer. Each image exists as part of a larger conversation: between shadow and concrete, color and shape, ultimately bridging Clover Green and the world he observes.
First presented at Claire de Rouen Books in London on November 21, 2024, Dialogues is now available in selected bookstores worldwide, including Tender Books, Reference Point, and the Photographer’s Gallery in London, as well as Printed Matter and Mast Books in New York City.
