Photographer Aristidis Schnelzer Explores the Advancements of Medical Technologies

In this project, the German photographer explores the shapes and visuals of the future of medicine through different high-tech prosthetic devices.

Technological development is advancing at a rapid pace. In the field of medicine, it is producing increasingly futuristic-looking technologies. Bionic prostheses that can be controlled by nerve impulses, robots that restore the mobility of stroke patients, 3D printers that print organic tissue...

Technological innovation in the medical field is also attracting more and more political attention. Both in the largest EU funding programme for research and innovation, "Horizon Europe", and in the British government's policy paper "The Grand Challenges", the development of new medical technologies is one of the central points and is being funded with billions of euros.

What forms does this development take and what is the added value for those affected?
