V Experimental Photo Festival 2024

From July 13 to 28, 2024, the V Experimental Photo Festival brought together 51 artists from 38 countries, with an artists' residency, 21 exhibitions, 52 workshops, and 18 conferences, promoting gender equality, collective creation, and contemporary art.

From July 13 to 28, 2024, the fifth edition of the Experimental Photo Festival took place, establishing itself as an international benchmark for contemporary and experimental photography. With the participation of 51 artists, one international artistic residency, and a global community that brought together 218 in-person participants and 124 virtual attendees from 38 countries, the festival became a meeting point for collective creation, cultural exchange, and horizontal learning.

This edition featured 52 in-person workshops and 5 online workshops, as well as 21 exhibitions, 3 horizontal portfolio viewings, and 18 conferences and debate spaces, strengthening the festival’s educational and artistic program.

Among the participating artists were Andrea Petit, Anna Melnikova, Bruna Valença, Brenna Hansen, Camila Nahien, Carla Helmbrecht, Carola Etche, Catalina de la Cruz, Célica Véliz, Colectivo Isla, Costanza Solórzano, Dale Rio, Edward Levinson, Elena Torres González, Ella Morton, Emily Swift, Emma Backer, Estefania Brussa, Flora Fanzutti, Francesco Amorosino, Gabriele Coassin, Gal Wachs, Haluro de Clara, Henri Blommers, Hilde Maassen, Imogen Hero, Ivelin Penchev, Joshua Curry, Justin Quinnell, Karolina Gliniewicz, Kimberly Halyburton, Kit Martin, Laura Boronat Corral, Lexy Liangzi Xiao, Malín Fabbri, Marc Rider, María Solaguren Beascoa, Millee Tibbs, Ralph Nevins, Shaina Gates, Sofía Nercasseau, Stefan Dinu, Tanja Upravitelev, Viktor Kostenko, Virginia Dal Magro, Vitor Schietti, and Yuk Tsang Ng—a diverse group of creatives whose work contributed to the richness and variety of the festival.

A key pillar of this year’s edition was the active promotion of gender equality. In this regard, the exhibition Blooming Voices, curated by our team of women curators, stood out, featuring the works of artists Chiara Bruni, Mont Carver, Jevgenija Frolova, Jana & Elisabeth Kiesser, and Stéphanie Probst.

The V Experimental Photo Festival 2024 reaffirms its commitment to an inclusive and transformative vision of art, where photography serves as a tool for resistance, expression, and collective construction. Thanks to its horizontal and collaborative nature, the festival continues to open pathways for both emerging and established photographers, nurturing a diverse and equal community that experiments, dialogues, and creates freely.

With its fifth consecutive edition, the festival solidifies its role as a key reference in the fields of alternative photography, contemporary art, cultural diversity, and gender equality.
