On Clear Days You See Europe by Myriam Meloni at American Arts Center

Curated by Sonia Borsato, the solo exhibition of Italian photographer Myriam Meloni is co-produced by the American Arts Center as part of ArtReach Incubation Program.

Overview

By juxtaposing the narratives of young European women who have relocated outward to settle in Morocco with those of young Sub-Saharan women embarking on the reverse journey, but find themselves stranded in Morocco en route to Europe, the exhibition aims to stimulate an open dialogue regarding migratory processes, and highlight how movement— whether desired, necessary, or imposed—remains a reflection of entrenched privileges rooted in colonial history and perpetuated by present-day policies.
