Falsos Amigos, the Spanish version of False Friends, presents photos of 19 art books in various languages in conjunction with their audio books translated into Spanish through computer software. This software, which builds words through pre-established phonetics, created a new text, a new interpretation of the collected books, generating poetic deformations that we can hear through a robotic voice that recites each of the books.
A false friend is a word or expression of a foreign language that is confused with a similar word in the native language, although its meanings are really different. Fake friends are one of the greatest enemies of translators. The only important advice to this effect is to be alert and to remember that in the translation the affirmation of Wittgenstein can be applied: "The meaning of a word depends on the use that is given to it".
