International Mute Photo Festival 2027 Open Call

An open call for photographers of all levels to submit images made with children's thermal printer cameras on the theme Nature Ate The Pixels, with the top 15 adult series and top 5 youth series exhibited in Karlovasi, Samos, Greece in July 2027.

Overview

The International Mute Photo Festival (IMPhF) 2027 invites submissions on the theme Nature Ate The Pixels, exploring a silent dialogue between humanity and nature. "The festival seeks images that capture a resilient coexistence, moments where human presence embeds within the landscape, or where nature triumphantly reclaims its space."

All submissions must be made using children's thermal printer cameras. The festival redefines an accessible toy into a powerful tool for contemporary artistic creation, embracing imperfection, organic forms, and low-resolution intimacy. Thematic categories include Landscape, Symbiosis, Rebirth, and Future.

The jury will select the top 15 photographic series from the Adult Category and the top 5 photographic series from the Children & Youth Category for exhibition in Karlovasi, Samos, Greece in July 2027. The festival will fully cover all production and printing costs to produce enlarged prints of the submitted digital scans. The artist who submits the most complete photographic series will receive travel and accommodation expenses to attend the exhibition opening.

Practical Info

The open call is open to photographers of all levels, as well as children and youth under 18 years old. Adult photographers must submit 6–9 images, while children and youth under 18 must submit 5 images. All images must be captured using children's thermal printer cameras.
