Makoto Oono uses a wide variety of elements including animals, plants, fruits, fish and insects to create still life landscapes reflecting on the disposability of things and objects used in our daily lives.

By arranging some mysterious artifacts into the composition to add an extreme “unbalance” of the meaning of what these components are, this could no longer be identifiable as “what this picture is”.

An ongoing project involves visiting Asian countries, purchasing local creatures and capturing the local culture without falsification.

This approach shows the complexity of nature in the modern city and is filled with both brutality and beauty simultaneously.
