FRAGMENTUM

FRAGMENTUM is a work starts from the exploration of a territory, during Falìa*, an artist's residence in Val di Lozio (BS, Italy). It is a work composed of dozens and dozens of photos. Here a selection.

The term fragment derives from the Latin FRAGMENTUM: in the Italian language, it has the same root as fragile and to break (frangere). A fragment is generally defined as each of the small pieces of an object that has suffered a rupture or fracture or as a small part detached from an object. In this work I look for a lost story in the fragment, I give each fragment that I found its own autonomy, to track down the trace of the original wound. I put together the shattered pieces of the Argillite, the local Lozio stone.

The fragments draw constellations

The tracks draw paths

You can always leave the forest

On the islands you can always return

Scars are healed wounds

The eyes are almost always open and brave

The monsters remain, but well focused

I took the head off the beast
