About Elena

I always felt that nature spoke to me, that some sort of ideal link was established at the moment of photographing. Now I think, at least partly, that I was mistaken: nature listens and like the reflection in the water takes possession of my emotions and returns them to me somewhat sharper.

For me, this makes "her" more beautiful, but in a way wild, terrible, magical, that you cannot envelop or understand but it captivates. So, the link between what is feminine and "her", and this mimesis that is not only physical, are the essential subject of my pictures. For me, taking photographs is the way to merge myself with this beauty, of letting myself be touched by "her", feeling the delight in embracing "her" and at least momentarily understand "her".

At the same time, I’m not only captivated by this emotional and feminine way of understanding nature: I’m always tryng to think about the meaning and the role of nature in this our contemporary world. Nature as redemption?, as renouncement?, as an abstract concept that permit us to move forward? Is possible a return? As Pessoa said:

/Landscape, like a splendid painting, is an uncomfortable bedside/
