Kahtaalla

Kahtaalla is a Finnish word meaning "being in two places at the same time". It describes well the life and identity of many immigrant people: part of the self is always elsewhere.

My project "Kahtaalla" is about immigrant lives in multicultural neighborhoods of Turku, in a time when increasing racism is one the most serious social problems in Finland.
