The subject is a plant of a succulent plant shop "Qusamura" in Hiroshima, Japan. It is difficult for me to fix the form and ambiance of plants as a photographic expression and it took me a very long time to explore my own way of shooting. I have taken various experimental photographs, and I have come to think that it is one of the best choices to use 8x10 tin type (photograph by collodion wet plate method with metal plate) among them. Tin type was able to pretend to be the appearance of old photos from that moment when photographing and by copying the plant of Qusamura which jumped over time and region, both motif and technique became mysteriously harmonized. The attire of old photographs will confuse or attract viewers. At that time, the plant will settle in the photograph as an unknown finding.
