Paolo Soriani (Rome 1962) he has produced photos of architecture for catalogs and publications. He is well-known for his jazz portraits and has published with ECM (Germany), CAM records, Label Bleu (France), Venus Records (Japan), VVJ, CNI, Warner(USA). During the past few years, he has held seminars and courses about photography at the Art History Institute of the University of Rome and at the Roman branches of Iowa State University. He actually teaches Photography courses at John Cabot University and at Art Academy of Viterbo (ABAV). In 2011 he becomes the official photographer for Jazz label Jando Records/VVJ with many releases. During these years he cured art direction of visuals, websites, and records for italian musicians as Pilar, Bollani, MP de Vito, Area, Bungaro and many others.

He has exhibited his work at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome, at the project Visual Arts of the International festival "Time in Jazz", directed by Paolo Fresu and at the International Festival for Photography in Rome. In 2005 he produced "Cities & Island", a multimedia project with the American musician Ralph Towner. His 2007 project about the “Absence of borders, Essence of borders” testimonies his curiosity about the borders separating Italy from the Europe of the Schengen agreement. The project becomes a book and a series of exhibits during 2007/2010. His recent exhibits: “Note Fotografiche”, Roma 2010, “Routers” (with JCU Studio Art Department’s teachers), “Jazz in Your Eyes”, Orvieto 2013, “Una storia lunga 40 anni – Roma Jazz Fest” Roma 2016. “Animanimale”, MACRO – Testaccio, Roma Maggio 2017. He is now collaborating with the Archaeological Museum in Naples (MANN) with creative projects and publications. He is also mentioned in the Diego Mormorio new “Storia Essenziale della Fotografia”. He is a founding member of AFIJ ( Italian Jazz Photographers Association).
